The WU size I've been receiving has been 100 000 cycles long for the past week. Before that, the average size was 500 000 cycles long (Mix of 250 000 and 750 000 cycle long WU). I once received a 1.5 million cycle long WU that took 48 hours to process. (Note the time per cycle varies depending on the WU, so process time is not directly correlated to the number of cycles.)

A WU is short for work unit. It is what is sent to your PS3 or computer to be processed as part of the overall work the distributed computing project is trying to accomplish.
