The only real problem here is that the Netherlands are winning, and subsequently beer. A seperate thread for predictions wouldn't result in more up to date standings.

But it would make it easier to update when Nikkom does it.

It ahs nothing to do with up to date standings, it has a lot more to do with keeping things organised for the guys running the show.
