This. And they've been unsuccessful with the OG Xbox while only being semi-successful with Xbox 360.
Sony's been given another chance with PS4 after the big failure with PS3, but Microsoft may not be given another chance after Xbox One. Their investors already want Microsoft to spin-off the Xbox brand as it is because it's a huge money sink.
And if Xbox One sales don't start picking up from now on, Microsoft's investors will start raising their voices even louder about it & will even start canceling R&D production of the 4th Xbox.
