Did EA mishandle the Titanfall IP?

That said, who can honestly know. CoD 2 never came to PS3 or Wii last gen, yet it went on to become a pretty big franchise last gen.

don't know about CoD2 being the reason that franchise got big though.  Played most of those COds prior to Modern warfare and they were all fun but rather meh.  Modern Warfare took them to new heights though and that was multiplat.  just saying.

Didn't say it was the reason it got big, but the franchise still exploded even though the first entry in the gen was exclusive to the Xbox 360 in terms of consoles. So there's no reason to rule that out for Titanfall. Too early to say EA mishandled anything.
