It just means that we will not continue to see more and more powerful computers releasing for cheaper and cheaper prices. The way I see there has to be an incentive for consumers to move on to the next iterations of the systems ... I would say the driving motivation to get new consumer electronics is getting better performance out of them and the fact that there will be no cost reduction for a long time means that tons of price sensitive markets like consoles are going to suffer or stagnate. If you can't get better performance at a lower or identical price compared to the last system what will be the point in buying the newer system ? Inceasing prices are not the way to go for most consumer electronics. The biggest point to moving towards more advanced manufacturing technology was making processors cheaper.
