Vita? Why do people even bring that shit up? I feel they should not have even bothered with the Vita. Didn't they see the writing on the wall?
And there reason for wanting to pursue PS4 sales, as they specifically mentioned is because the PS4 just has way more revenue streams that are exclusive to a ome console. Not talking just game sales, but subscription services too. All they what hey have said means is that they will be dropping the PS4 price as quickly as they can instead of sitting on the gains made and increasing profits on the actual hardware.
Pretty good strategy if you ask me. Cheaper consoles sell more, more consoles sold = more games sold and more people signing up for PS+. All that = more money to be made.
