Uhhhhh, spend the $500 on a Vizio, and put like another $1500 into a sweet sound system. Put the remaining $1000 away, and upgrade tvs in 3-4 years when this above and beyond technology is relevant (and the $1000 tv 3-4 years from now will probably smoke the visuals of the $3000 tv now).
Oh, and if you need "smart" options, and the cheaper Vizio choice doesn't have it...get a $35 Chrome adapter.
Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.
