Usually I dont like it cause I do feel as though that most of the time, the IP either gets totally wrecked or its not the type that the fans wanted or it feels as though it was made by fans of the IP and not the original vision that the developers had... Heck, I will even give you a Nintendo example... Metroid, the Other M was made by team Ninja and it was probably one of the worst if not the worst Metroid games ever
