I'm not sure why you're "optimistic" about a crash in the market. But I doubt there will be a crash anytime soon, in 1983 not only was there an abundance of crappy games but also no way to really know what game is good or bad.
Sure there are a lot of crappy games out there today, but with things like the internet it's really easy to find out what games are good and what games are bad. So if someone continuously makes crappy games it's probably not going to turn out the best profit for them.
