No, but neither do youtubers really. People don't pay to watch them, they just have to watch some adverts.

Exactly ! They are making money of of something other people own . And the original owner of the software doesn´t get a single penny .

...hyperbole aside, Phil is right. The publisher/ developer that made the software should get something in return.

Radiostations have to pay royalties too.
