Im pretty sure if you just make good games gamers will buy them.
If I do a review on a Procter-Silex stand mixer, showing off the box, everything inside and do a demo, do I owe them money too? I've spoiled how the stand mixer works, and now that people have seen it in action, why would they go out and buy it. People with this mindset are the same ones working on ways to have each individual watching a rented movie pay a fee.
People that strictly watch videogames for entertainment are a very small group.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
