I turn 30 this year. I grew up on Nintendo and then Sony consoles and more significantly PC. Nintendo and Indie developers are going to be our saving grace for gaming, I think. As others I am sure are feeling, I am getting tired of the ultra-realistic, overly violent, vulgar and sexualized games that are being thrown at us all the time. Just because I do not wish to play a rated M game does not mean I am immature. Why should anyone be labeled weird for enjoying fun? That is what Nintendo is creating - new ways to have fun and I love them to death for it. I threw Indies there because they are the only ones that are willing to buck this trend as well.
When I turn on my Wii U and start up Mario 3D World or Mario Kart or Pikmin or Zelda or Donkey Kong, I always am enjoying myself. I actually laugh or am smiling because of the amount of fun I am having.
Now Bronies and the like, that is weird and really people should be concerned.
