PS TV could well do better in the West than it did in Japan.
The ability to easily connect your PS4 to a second TV in the house without having to move it all around could be a selling point, and it's now looking like the PS4 isn't going to be a minor console in this generation. Add the fact that you have access to much of the Vita's lineup and I think even if people can get ChromeCast etc cheaper, they may consider a PS TV for the gaming aspect.
I don't think it'll do mega numbers, but given Vita's state in the West, it could well prove a noticeable software boost for Vita titles, particularly from PSN. All pure speculation mind.
RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
