why does anyone expect a cross-gen game to move hardware? Its one thing if the PS4/XB1 were the only places you could buy WD for say 1 month, then maybe it could move a little hardware. But why should something that is being releaased day and date and feature complete with last gen consoles move current gen hardware?

I don't get it it.

So what's gonna move hardware this year?

Assassins Creed and what? Sunset Overdrive? HD remasters?

Besides destiny? and thats just cause its bundled with a white PS4, nothing is gonna "move" hardware. And the truth is, the normalized demand is good enough as it is. Come the fall, there will be a normal uptick of sales during the festive season. Thats usually because the hardware is usually bought as a present for someone or the other. And then there will be those that are just ready to upgrade anyways.

The only thing taht stands a chance of moving hardware typically, are games that are not just exclusive to a generation, but preferably exclusive to a platform. Simple fact of it is, till 2015 we are not going to see software driven hardware boosts on either the PS4/XB1. Now only if COD this year was current gen exclusive, damn... that would have done wonders for the hardware.

If AC:U is gen exclusive, it will also move a good deal of hardware.
