And the 'why' was centered around the sales numbers.  Yes they were worldwide numbers, but nearly half of the total was from North America.  The breakdown is illustrated right on the main page.  VGC showed 30% more sold in the US on the Mario Kart launch week than the WIi U sold in the entire month of May in the US.

You can't just go from

"Did the Wii U not just explode in sales, trippling Xbone's weekly sales on a week that should have been big for them with Watch Dogs coming out? Was it not within range of passing Sony? Is it not impressive that a "dead" console did this? Is English not your first language?"

to

"Well anyone who thought NA was going to see a much larger improvement than that was a fool. I actually thought that was impressive after learning it was just NA lol."

When the numbers change.

Regardless of if the numbers were accurate or not, the thread was still spot on. Those overtracked numbers were indeed why Nintendo fans were excited, so I don't see how that's wrong? It's like if I made a thread about how people in Germany thought Hitler was a cool dude. Then they lost and found out he wasn't so cool afterall. It doesn't change the fact that at the time they thought he was cool. I'm pretty confident the majority of the people on this board missed the entire reason of that thread. I blame myself, as I'm used to hanging out at forums that usually have active debates, and this is my first foray into the world of console warriors.

And I did think those numbers were worldwide, so it's lining up with my expectations by pure chance do to misunderstanding.
