When I was debating between buying a ps4  or xone first this gen, the exclusive content on destiny was actually a fairly big factor in my decision, as destiny was my most anticipated game.  Was it the only factor I considered, no, but it was a factor in my buying decision.  People can be annoyed that companies do this, but their research must show that it has some effect or they wouldn't bother doing it...

Why? Look at what you're getting. 1 map, 1 mission and a few weapons and skins.

How big is this game going to be? Huge! These little things are not going to make any difference at all

lol, yeah, I know.  However, this was WAY before they actually announced what the content was.  Just the idea of me missing out on anything destiny at the time was a factor for me.
