Step 1) Consoles are revealed. --> "OMFG must have this NAO."

Step 2) Hype dies down. --> "Where are the games???"

Step 3) No huge graphical leap --> "Graphics are ass. Diminishing returns!!! Xbox 1.5 lolz."

Step 4) Proper leap shown (MGS2, Gears, U4) --> "No way that's true, they liiiiieee!!!"

Step 5) Proper leap is true --> "AAAAH! My eyes are melting! How?? No more gens needed."

Step 6) Loads of games come out --> "OMFG I really must have this NAO."

Step 7) Graphics improve further--> "That one eye-melting game looks like ass now, what was I thinking, lolz."

Step 8) Sequels, gen getting old--> "These machines are ass, I'm burned out on gaming, next gen will suck, boooo!"

Step 9) New consoles are revealed--> "OMFG must have this NAO."

Rinse and repeat.

 

Bonus points (all throughout each gen):

-PC gamers --> "Consoles suck. Our collective dicks are bigger"

-Console gamers --> "Last gen was better."

-Everyone --> "Nintendo is doomed."
