Despite all the clamoring for Sony and Microsoft to reveal everything RIGHT NOW, both seem content to take the smarter course and stagger reveals and releases so they come in a regular flow. Really, it kind of annoys me the way people act entitled for exclusives at E3, as these are probably the same people who will complain about games being "downgraded" because they were shown too early or because of the droughts that would occur if everything came at once.
I was pretty sure that Microsoft would go all out this E3 in an effort to win people back all at once, even if that would harm them down the line, but I was pleasantly surprised that they held off, leaving projects for the future. That's the better long-term plan, I think.
Sony obviously does not have to resort to desperate measures. More than that, I really like they way they leave material for Gamescon, TGS, and even the VGAs. I also like the way they release games in the early part of the year, when the competition is much less fierce.
