This is a horrible analogy.
I gave an example, quick price cuts increased demand of PS3 and 3DS. In the long run, any negavitve message ultimately didn't matter. Increasing demand and being more competitive is the goal.

A single one sure the + out weight the - .
X1 went through unofficial cut and free game, kinex less sku cut and this would be a 3rd time there is a "cut" and i use the term loosly. In addition of all the flip flops on what the x1 is. X1 screams soon to eb failed product. Product getting cheaper is great, doing it to fast tells the consumer it will have a short life span. There are multiple ways to see things, but one of them always is no good deed goes unpunished. At the end of the day Xbox one is a misfired product that failed to achive sales based on what it was designed to do and now is forced into something that its competitor is far better at.

Yeah... yeah...
The PS3 was an even bigger misfire in many ways and allowed Xbox to become a major competitor. But thanks to software bundlings (my PS3 came with GoW3 and Uncharted 2), numerous price cuts (I got mine for $250), and noteworthy software the PS3 managed to stay relevant for many years.
Sersiouly, look to the past before predicting the future. The X1 isn't a lost cause yet. It all depends on Xbox does to redeem itself.

The PS3 stayed relevent based on the global strength of the PS brand name. The Xbox has no such thing and is reliant entirely on NA and to a lesser extent, the UK
