General - Is there a god? - View Post

I am a Christian, thus I believe in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

My reasons for believing in God are more scientific than the reasons people use to believe in existence without God. In order for anything to be Scientific it must lend itself to Scientific Method, most of the theories used to disprove God/ Intelligent Design fly in the face of what is proven by observable Science.

Scientific Method: 1st) Create a theory or hypothesis. 2nd) Set- up a controlled experiment in order to test that theory. 3rd) Then the findings of that experiment must be able to be recreated by your peers.

There is a Law that says something can't come from nothing. We know that the universe had a beginning and is not self-substaining. The Laws of Thermodynamics, The nature of Suns turning hydrogen into heavier elements disprove the occilating universe theory.
Many other theories exist one that says there are infinite amount of universes and this is one that happened to have created life. Why do people even bother with this theory if everything is so cut and dry? If life is so easy? (Why say life came from Mars via meteor? Which is a theory visited on 8 to 5 years ago by some NASA scientist).

Scientist say that in the first Picco- second (the time it takes for light to span the with of a human hair) of the Big Bang (the Beginning) set the stage for whether or not the universe could sustain life or not. ----
From that comes expanding universe theory/ String Theory/ Floating Membrane Theory all of these theories ( and versions built off those theories) created to explain the reason why it seems "the universe" purposefully intended to create life from its beginning.
As a scientist you can never put your full weight on a theory, how can you? If you believe something that isn't true then you are not being scientific, if you believe something that hasn't been proven you are not being scientific- but you are putting your Faith in Science or Scientist. If you put your faith in a theory then you put your faith in a philosophy or an opinion, but if you put your faith in a Law of Science then your Faith will be proven true. I never doubt whether or not gravity works 1) because I have seen it work all of the days of my life and 2) (if I was this much of a lemming) because it is a Law of Science. 3) Other people have told me about it.
With this in mind, please note that I know so many people that believe in a God (even if not Christian). Many claim to have witnessed or experienced this Creator or God. Since the dawn of Man we have worship a God- why do so many dismiss God as old wise tales when so many people say that they have seen him working in some way or some form? Is mankind just insane?
Do you know that in almost every world religion there is story that Mimics Adam and Eve, there is a story that Mimics Noah and the flood- why do you think that is? Is it because of a "common delusion rooted in mankinds psyche" or is it because there is something to it? When you call in eye witnesses you get different accounts that vary in details. In the justice system we don't throw out all of the evidence of a murder case if all of the witnesses can not agree on the time or the color clothes the man was wearing at the time of a murder- do we?
If I am insane I am so because of the Scientific Method: Scientific Method: 1st) Create a theory or hypothesis. 2nd) Set- up a controlled experiment in order to test that theory. 3rd) Then the findings of that experiment must be able to be recreated by your peers.

I have done all of these things and I have found that there is a God. Have I seen or touched God? Yes in the same way Scientist have seen nuetrons, I see the effects. Have you seen Microwaves come from that box you have in your kitchen? How do you know that they haven't lied to you? Are Microwaves real? No, you have seen the effects thus you are a believer. Men didn't use to be able to see atoms, or cells but now we can. In the same way, I did not use to be able to see God but now I can. Why, because I checked out the ground work of these Jewish Scientist that claimed to be writing under the influence of this God and that lead me on a trail and path to finding Him and experiencing Him.
If my research methods sound strange, then note, that they are no more difficult or stranger than what early scientist thought of making or using a microscope... or making a super-conductor... I mean why do I need a tool, if everything is supposed to be smellable, seeable, touchable, and tastable? But we know better.
Take sometime out in your life and humbly call out to God to reveal himself to you (and no I do not mean that God will make your life perfect, that is erroneous, but he will make it meaningful). Call out to "nothing" or God and say, "If you are real show yourself to me." Then read one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John GET AND NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION IF YOU WANT IT IN MORE PLAIN ENGLISH) and ask, this God, about it. If you feel silly, don't it is only a test. Don't expect miracles, although it may happen, but look for Him--- usually He will speak to you in a way that is significant and personal to you and respond to what is revealed to learn more.

If you don't search then you are going against the evidence of billions who have (since the dawn of time), but how can you go against something you have not disproved? The only way to disprove it is by recreating the experiment and observing the results. And in any experiment you must be objective and humble to the truth, or rather TRUTH.
