To kind of get back on topic, I believe U4 will look good. Much better than what can be done on PS3 hardware of course. X1 will have a difficult time keeping up when games of similar quality come out. It was a big mistake taking ddr3+kinect over the more expensive gddr5. There is no denying it. 


And in the end both machines still have a similar production cost. If PS4 uses a more expensive memory, the APU on the X1 is expensive because of the EDRAM (it's huge, actually the biggest APU ever in die size if I'm not mistaken). I think this will give Sony a price advantage, since mass production of GDDR5 memories with higher capacity (PS4 currently uses 16 X 512MB sticks) fueled by new GPUs with more memory will drive costs down, while a big APU is always expensive.
