Yes, this could have been their reasoning. Although I doubt that many English FIFA soccer fans will buy this game.
If the guys from EA Sports would've wanted to put some irony in their demo, they could have chosen England vs. Croatia.
Or Greece vs. Portugal (playable twice), at least.
