Also, I am not sure if DLNA is the best way to go... hmmm, I have certain.. possibly compromising picture/video of myself and my exs. So yeah, not something that need to be linked. lol

Put those compromising picutres/videos in a seperate folder and protect it so that it's not shared. ;)  Far easier then usinga  external.  And chances are, it's not FAT32 formatted.
