To those in similar situations as the OP is say this...
....It's your lost. Next time do your homework (1. Everybody that knew about the western release of the game knew Nintendo was only doing a short number of prints. 2. It's not a huge game/franchise so it'll obviously be harder to find later on) and buy it day 1 regardless if you don't own the system, or else this happens.
