If I were you, if you were he, I would  look into the feasibility of issuing a firmware update to allow general SD cards to be used. I know they're a slightly different size than normal cards, so if normal SD cards don't fit, then I'd start having shells made that micro-SDs can fit into.

Nah, then the money would stop rolling in all together.

Forcing them to use Sony is fair as long as the prices are not crazy like they are now.
