People definitely buy a console based on color. As far as I can tell, that's the primary reason to buy an Xbox 360 elite as all of the other extras (HDMI cable, larger drive, etc) are only worth about $10, and it costs $100-$170 extra for hardware that is otherwise identical to the Arcade and Premium.
