When has there ever been huge summer releases in gaming history? Summer is usually considered the season in which you address your video game backlog.
Honestly, I'd rather have polished games that are released later, than unpolished games released tomorrow. Look at the Wii U's library, as it is now, there certainly isn't a shortage of games for the new Wii U owners, so certainly I don't think it hurts Nintendo's business to not release games during the summer - the season in which people buy games the least.
