For those of you who claimed PS4 had better graphics than Xbox One, that simply is not true, at least not anymore!

November 2013:

Ghosts PS4: 1080p

Ghosts Xbox One: 720p

May 2014:

Watchdogs PS4 900p (gap decreasing)

Watchdogs Xbox One 792p

November 2014:

Destiny PS4 1080p? (or perhaps less)

Destiny Xbox One 1080p

As you can see, as Microsoft has released their new dev kits there is essentially no difference between Xbox One and PS4 graphics. At this rate it would seem that Xbox One has the possibility to eclipse PS4 in the graphics department

Why do people do this? First off Team Xbox isn't the only dev working on improving their APIs for better performance. Sony will undoubtedly be working to allow devs to squeeze more power out of their console as well. It is good news for XB1 owners that MS has update theirs and (this is probably the most impactful in terms of performance) dropped the Kinect requirements, thereby freeing up precious resources, the XB1 can now claim as close to parity as it can with the PS4 for the time being.

What hasn't changed is the hardware. But who knows maybe Sony isn't working to improve their development tools and they are choosing to let their flagship console languish in developer purgatory, so there is that I suppose.
