| GdaTyler said: This will be my last thread about the issue, but I wanted to bring a comparison between Sony and Nintendo in that regard. Nintendo has two main current consoles, 3DS and Wii U. You can say Sony has 3 consoles, PS4/PS3/PSV. What I think is admirable about Nintendo is that they are still fighting with the Wii U despite it selling much less than the 3DS. The 3DS prints money and the Wii U is struggling, but Nintendo has fought and turned it around and made Wii U sell extremely well recently. This shows that Wii U has potential to really sell well, but needs a big title to make it take off. What's sad about it is Sony would go to any lengths to make one console the focus and forget about the others. That's what I think they should emulate from Nintendo (aside from SSB and PS Move/ Wiimote :P). |
The difference is that Sony can comfortably cut off the Vita. Handheld gaming has never really been that big to them, and the Vita's failure means very little to their bottom line. On the other hand, the Wii U failing would leave Nintendo in terrible shape. They can't survive on handhelds alone. So, it's not really a choice for Ninty.
