EDIT: Rendo, Moor's Law is in reference to the number of cost effective transitors on a microship doubling every 18 month. It has nothing to do with storage or any other facet of electronics and technology. |
What do you suppose they use to make memory on a silicone chip?
Memory is produced using the same digital logic gates that are used within a CPU which are made up of transistors; being that the number of transistors on a silicone chip doubles every 18 months this means that the ammount of memory that can be put on a silicone chip doubles every 18 months.
