Yea, that's why the series has sold over 40 million copies, with never having damage. Part of the reason it sells so well is it has 500 real world cars. The reason it has 500 cars, is because of no damage. Car manufacturers like it that way. I would like damage, but to tell someone with such wild success that they are doing something wrong is just... well.. when you make a game with over a million pre-orders, go ahead and bitch about this one. |
And all 40 million were sold before online gaming became mainstream on Playstation. Mario games also used to be in 2D and they sold like hotcakes. I guess Mario 64 was a waste of Nintendo's time, then. And Halo 2's online system was a waste of time because Halo: Combat Evolved sold so well.
Don't give me that 500 car BS. Forza 2 has almost 300 and every one of them features damage. None of the manufacturers seem to hassle Turn 10 about it and Turn 10 has Porsche, Lamborghini, and a few other manufacturers not in the Gran Turismo series.
Times change. Full-fledged racing sims without damage and a great online system are unacceptable now. I expect better because I've played better.
