Small-scale madness is: believing that doing the same thing over and over again will get you different results each time.
2 + 2 will never equal 3, no matter how many times you expect it to.
Large-scale madness is: believing that doing the same thing over and over again will get you the same results each time.
2 + 2 = 4, until it doesn't because you're not working in a base larger than 4 any more.
