I've always wondered how much information he has access to. I asked him that one time and I don't think he replied. |
Probably all that producers are willing to give and that big store chain execs need to prepare their company marketing and logistics, as they'll need to be ready in advance with warehouse and shelf space allocation, they'll have to prepare their part of marketing, like decide offers, possible discounts, unofficial additional bundles, prepare new leaflets, be ready to update cash register databases, and the highest management will need more infos, to decide the stores overall strategy, the position of each product in relationship with the others, as they all compete for limited space and resources, and for this they'll have to decide too in advance discounts and clearance sales on a selection of older products, and surely an actual store manager can tell you more tasks they need early and detailed enough infos for.
