Highly unlikely for the following reasons why PS2/Wii sold so well and to some extent PS3:
1. Piracy
2. Motion Controls (Wii) - no one cares anymore
3. Casuals - gone to tablets phones
4. DVD player (PS2) - some probably upgraded to PS3
5. BluRay player (PS3) - PS4 has the same offering so why upgrade
The reason the PS4 has sold so well IMHO is because last gen lasted so long that gamers wanted to get the latest greatest thing in gaming and best part it was cheaper than PS3. If last gen was shorter it wouldn't get as many impulse buys and people would wait it out till better games come out and y then hopefully a price cut.
