Ok, my turn! First off I just want to say I have to work during the press conference DESPITE me asking for the day off, so...frustrating. Luckily, I know that it'll be on the Nintendo website once it's done so I can watch it IMMEDIATLEY...ish when I get home. Ok, venting over.
I find it difficult to gauge how much or how little Nintendo will reveal. On one hand, we know that the 3DS version will be coming out in the summer. But when may dictate what we learn. For this however, I'll go best case scenario.
Guaranteed: Guaranteed we'll get five things.
1. The release date for the 3DS version and a release month for the Wii U version.
2. A brand new trailer showing off AT LEAST one new character.
3. Some returning characters will be announced, not all (like in brawl they'll be kept secret) but some. My bet is on Ness, Ice Climbers, and Ganon.
4. One or two special Wii U only game modes. With 3DS having Smash Run, we NEED a reason (or at least for those who aren't completely faithful) to buy this version aside from different stages and HD. I wouldn't be surprised if there was more than one different mode do to the Wii U processing power.
5. Tiny details, aka new stages for both, new items, new assist trophies, etc.
Possibility: Two JAW-DROPPING character announcements. Not saying it'll be up there with Mega Man or Snake, but it's a possibility. Hopefully not Pac-Man, but you never know who might appear in the new SSB. Also, new modes for not just Wii U but 3DS as well.
Not likely, but man would it be cool!: I would love some cross-platform playability. I dream of working at Nintendo and doing that with some of their franchises. I've heard some people say that Sakurai debunked this, but I'm not so sure. You never know...
All in all, I think we'll get some great announcements on the SSB front. How good will just depend on how we receive it!
In case you didn't know, I have a comic book called Guardians. I'm the writer/creator of it, and we have four issues out right now, with our fifth coming out soon!
We're also doing a Patreon right now for the comic, and I'd appreciate any and all help in getting it funded. If 56 people pledged $3 per issue, we'll be funded
