| Dodece said: You know I am going to be brutally honest. So for those Sony fans with weak constitutions you might want to pass up this post before it breaks your hearts. The PS3 really doesn't have a great library, doesn't have a good library, or a decent library. Basically it has a very poor library. I am sorry but this is what they have to show for fifteen months, and an extra year to get their shit together. This isn't acceptable by any standard. The shot may be low, but it sure as hell is true. That is why it stings so much a few decent titles really do not change the situation. I am sure for those that own the machine it must have seemed like a massive leap in library quality, but from the outside it looked like a little blip on the radar. You have to see it for what it really is Microsoft has thirty and Sony scraped together three. None of which received incredible accolades. To them it is basically nothing. Hopefully the rest of this year Sony will start to shine enough to not be worthy of such scathing remarks. However they aren't really there yet. Prologue is a good first step, but let us hope the delay station effect doesn't materialize again this year. |
True? It's kind of funny how people base a library on how many AAA titles it has. If it only has a few and the rest aren't AAA titles, the library is shit. Not all titles have to be AAA to be good. Also, people are forgetting one major factor here. The 360 had a BIG headstart. Those thirty good titles weren't accumulated at it's point in lifetime the PS3 is at now, it's been over the time the 360 has been around. I'm sorry, but this generation isn't close to done, and a year and a few months isn't enough to gather 30 really good titles.
This isn't 2007, this is 2008 which has quite a few titles to be looking forward to on the PS3. Also, how good a game is based on opinion can't be true. To some the PS3 has more than a few pretty good titles. I myself am stripped of cash and can't buy all the PS3 games I want. To others like you, the PS3 only has a few decent titles. All I know is you're wrong in saying the situation hasn't changed. The PS3 has been gaining some major momentum recently, so much it's outselling the 360 weekly. Am I saying it will outsell it this year? No, I'm saying it's catching up, and Sony is heading in the right direction with the PS3.
