Yeah PC is pretty much mainstream. Problem is the "Master Race" gets no love from media because there is no unified hardware that can pay for PR. There is too much infighting and disparity. It's like a constant console war inside a single platform. Even steam machine suffers from it, which I think was a misstep for them even tho what they did do will be profitable for them. I mean not every game will be playable on every steam machine because there will be such a disparity in hardware. It's good that with the steam machines OS they have managed to eliminate some of the software disparity issues that plagues PC but they ended up creating hardware disparity in a single console generation which isn't exactly a good thing for consumers. In short steam will likely never be at E3 because it can't really invest in PR, it's entirely too complex/chaotic, there is no real unity, and there is too much infighting. Not that it needs it tho, it does just fine the way it is. Also if it goes to E3 it would be saying it's the same as the consoles and it's not. It's in an entirely different league that is designed to sit outside of that realm and lead it and influence it from the outside with hardware and software innovation that constantly pushes the boundaries.
