Why do people hate digital games so much?

Publishers don't see that though. Publishers care about maximizing profit, not in that tiny bit of magic you miss out on by playing a digital game. Digital games mean that more and more developers can publish their material without having to pay for manufacturing and shipping, along with competing for retail space. This means that more games get published in the long run, and more money can be spent straight on the game rather than manufacturing and shipment costs.

There are still many people who miss the "magic" of cartridge gaming, but publishers don't care about that. They'll do whatever is best for them and the games they release.

In the end, that's just the cold, hard truth.

Edit: Also, Ni no Kuni is freakin amazing.

Well I don't particularly care about Publishers :P They can do whatever they want but I am going to be as vocal as possible to make sure that they know my dollar is going to go to physical games before digital games! You asked why people hate digital, so I explained why I love physical. I know the monetary benefits of digital games but I don't particularly care ;)

PS: Ni no Kuni is average at best ;) This isn't the time or place for this discussion but I'll link you to Kupomogli's review as he and I are fairly like minded on the subject ( http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=170924&page= ). I find faults in pretty much every aspect of the game though, which go far beyond the complaints that he has :P

I can't fault you for being vocal, and I hope that we always have a choice, so both of us can enjoy playing the games we like.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree on Ni no Kuni
