Superbot was made by former Sony employees. Playstation Allstars Battle Royale was probably a test to see if they were worthy of being purchased by Sony.

They aren't random third party.

Was that after they bought Insomniac, QD, Ready at Dawn, and Sanzaru?

You're just making a presumption. Sony relied on a 3rd party, no excuses.

Dude....look up superbot. The company had been working for the game two years before they announced it in 2011. It was their only game and the employees had worked for Sony before that. THE WHOLE TEAM WAS COMPOSED OF FORMER SONY EMPLOYEES. Its only common sense if you understand how Sony works that they were going through an initiation process. Most of Sony's known third party go through an initiations before they are purchased. They have to meet a certain level of quality and reception before Sony makes them a part of the family. Naughty Dog and Insomniac were Sony partners since the 90's. Microsoft has no such relationship. Their strongest third party relationship is Remedy and that started last gen.

To be fair, Microsoft hasn't been in the bussiness for as long as Sony.

That being said, I agree. Microsoft missed out big time on establishing first-party developers. They let their best developer partenershipe desovle with Bungie, and then screwed up big time by letting Rare waste away.
