They are phasing out the PS3, they are trying to encourage sales of its successor, hence why they are taking value from the PS3 and giving it to the PS4. This is also the reason why it doesn't matter with 360. XB1 does not have the position to be allowing this, and possibly the only benefit MS sees from this is that they spend less on console exclusives, at the expense of decreasing the console's value, which ironically, is the entire point of securing exclusives for the system in the first place. When the XB2 is out, all of XB1s exclusives can go to the OUYA even, right now, it doesn't make sense from a console manufacturers perspective. MS just didn't pay enough, to do this deliberatly would be asinine. |
It is a smart idea to bring games to other platforms at a "late" stage once sales die down. It will increases sales in the end. Microsoft will bring games for pc but not every single one of them. The ones that do will come at a later stage. Sometimes it takes more than a year or even 2 but other times it might be shorter. I dont see a problem with that as long as they dont bring every single exclusive to pc. 1st party games probably wont.
