I'm more inclined to believe they'll just release the sold through figure. I was just throwing that out there as a 'possibility'.
The reason they might do it is to offset any 'shipped' figures MS release. Many sites just used the shipped figures MS gave them to claim the gap was only 2 million. They couldn't do that if Sony also released shipped figures ;)
Because NPD and Media Create are clearly showing the PS4 is outselling the XB1, those sites simply couldn't pretend that Sony's shipped figures contain higher 'unsold' console numbers than MSs. They would have to either NOT extrapolate, or tell the truth. It checkmates BS.
