Prosecutors always try to get first-degree murder (or attempts at such) tried in adult court. Just like murder 1 has no statute of limitations, murder 1 also has no limits on age.
Whether it actually goes there is another story. The town i came from had an 11-year-old (made national news for a bit) get his dad's shotgun and shoot his stepmom-to-be (who was pregnant) in the stomach while she was sleeping, and his case ended up getting tried in juvenile.
