god, fuck,.. please no.  what quinton said above me is the truth.  getting a window's 8 laptop was the most disappointing thing i could have done.  i didn't get a laptop because i wanted to have a shallow experience like when i'm on my tablet.  i got a laptop because i wanted a more feature rich interface then a tablet can provide.  that computer feels so nerfed and frustrating to use.

I wonder if people that make these kinds of comments actually even have windows8  (which should be 8.1 by now obviously). 

Just boot/go straight to desktop... it is then virtually no different to windows7, except being much quicker than 7 that is.

That start screen is really sad. You don't know how to use Windows 8.
