Check your numbers, the CPU -is not- stronger, unless the PS4's CPU is a potato. Tablet i5's are low voltage, and slower than most standard laptop i5's by a significant margin. The i7's are slower as well. So the PS4 is likely more powerful in the CPU department. Windows tablets will not be getting any dedicated GPUs soon, and they won't be equalling or even rivaling consoles with the intel integrated graphics on the tablet processor die. The Intel HD graphics are underclocked on those for power saving. |
All of your points are technically correct. And, I will point out that you are the first person to really state the obvious difference in the CPUs.
BUT, you are comparing todays tablet processors to the PS4. The power of the orignal ipad or 4 year old tablet compared to today is quite different. The 1st gen tablets were extremely weak. THe currrent ipads/android tablets have exponentially more power. The chip industry has put its full force behind creating tech advancements for tablets/smartphones. The bigger breakthroughs will really be seen in 2-3 years. If you read my updated thoughts in the OP, you can see what I am talking about.
It is near the end of the end....
