The most impressive example I can remember was Myst IV. If you managed to have it up and running at full resolution, you could believe that it was mroe realistic than PS4 games.
But I think that exactly what Quantum Break is bringing back in its most modern format, except it's not even precalculated images, but precalculated HD video with a mixe of next-gen graphics which gives you the impression to almost be in a movie.
And because it looks like a giant leap from even the current next-gen graphics, and I'm sure It'll spawn a whole lot of games like this.
