Most game changing, probably the ps1. Going with cheap cds instead of expensive to produce cartridges made console gaming a lot more affordable, and also more profitable for 3rd parties.

The PS1 wasn't even close to be the first CD based conole :P. So its just like the Wii.

Hmm yes, the first succesful one anyway. It killed off cartridges, Wii didn't replace the regular controler.
