I understand your point and agree the endings were subpar and the decisions were a lot simplier than HR (I enjoyed both, but B2D have a better beggining and HR better ends and decision system. B2D have a better history, but HR hook you more on the thrill.
I think they simplified the decisions so anyone could get all endings. I bet they got a lot of complaints on how to get the 7 combinations to get all the 20+ ending scenes on HR. My disappointance there were regarding the impact of the decisions on the identity of origami killer.
