I guess the main question I want to raise here is why are developers still clinging to last-gen when the consumer seems to be adopting new-generation hardware at a startling rate? Have they been caught off-guard by the adoption rate? And why on earth is Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel last-gen only? I would have really liked to have played this on my PlayStation 4!
With Watch_Dogs we have seen the first concrete evidence that last-gen sales are falling off a cliff - unless Watch_Dogs was an anomaly. People have been hungry for a new-generation of hardware for a long while now, and surely developers have been equally as hungry? Yet here we are with games like Forza Horizon being cross-gen titles.
What are your thoughts on this? Is the install-base of last-generation still too much of a lure for developers to pass up? Even though they are swiftly shifting to the new-generation hardware?
Also: I have coined the term new-generation so that there is no confusion between current/last-gen. :P
