Really? Do you not play many of his game? Luigi's Mansion, Super Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, and even Smash Bros all pretty much say:
"Luigi gets far too much shit, is haunted by demonic spirits, is known to be unknowably either the True-Christ or the Anti-Christ, and is so far beyond damaged that when he briefly allows himself to 'let-go' he exudes an aura which becomes an area-of-effective negative reality." - Comedy, as far as Luigi's story goes, is the fact his dog was a freaking ghost for atleast decades before he brought it home for company and that when he wins a tennis tournament Mario grinds his shoe down on Luigi's to assert his unchallengably retained dominace over his little brother. Try putting that into real-life.
