The next-gen just doesn't feel complete quite yet. sure, watch Dogs is giving players GTA V-style thrills but as Marvin Gaye once said "ain't nothing like the real thing." And, for GTA V fans and next-gen console owners, the real thing might be coming very, very soon. A GTA V Xbox One and Ps4 release announcement is rumored for the upcoming E3 convention, and signs pointing to a GTA V next-gen release have come from all over the interwebs, including Rockstar execs.
Earlier this month, Take Two interactive (Rockstar's parent company) got the GTA V Xbox one and PS4 release rumor mill churning away when CEO Strauss Zelnick said during a post-earnings financial call that he is "very excited about what [Rockstar Games] have in store for next-gen systems." He also indicated that Rockstar would have a next-gen release by the end of the current fiscal year which, for Rockstar, means by March 2015.

Personally, I'm hoping for a new Red Dead Redemption, but a GTA V Xbox one and ps4 release seems likely in light of a few recent rumors.Dualshockers recently ran a report from an anonymous source that contained a vault-load of information about the Sony E3 press event. The source claimed that rockstar might be on hand to make the announcement, but that fans should expect a next-gen GTA V announcement during the sony presentation. Does this mean we will get a GTA V PS4 release only? Doubtful. Rockstar is still in the business of making money so it'd be strange for them to ignore a huge section of the next-gen audience by not having a GTA V Xbox one release, too. And Zelnick's comments seemed to indicate that the unnamed rockstar title he was referring to would appear on both consoles.

The GTA V Xbox One and PS4 release rumor mill got a fresh turn this week, too, when noted gaming insider thuway (a.k.a. Ahsan Rasheed) tweeted the following:

A GTA V next-gen release appeared in April as well following the discovery of an Xbox One and PS4 GTA V pre-order page on Romanian retail site Altex. The GTA V Xbox One and PS4 pre-order pages also list a release date of June 15, a startlingly close prediction for a next-gen version that hasn't been officially confirmed. Although it might seem like it's too good to be trueGotGame points out that Altex leaked the Jackdaw edition of Assassin's Creed 4 before it was officially announced, too. So the site has had at least one relevant leak recently.

The existence of a GTA V next-gen release in 2014 was also predicted last year by industry analyst Colin Sebastian. In discussing the GTA V Xbox One and PS4 release date, Sebastian mentioned the stellar sales for GTA V but cautioned that the numbers could plateau.

"We are now modeling 13-14 million units shipped in F2Q. We believe there is still potential upside to our targets," he said. "However, given the possibility that sales of GTA are front-loaded, we will await further sales data before adjusting our expectations further."

A GTA V Xbox One and PS4 release pre-order page was also leaked last year by Danish retail site Coolshop. The retailer had a pre-order page for a GTA V Xbox One version listed on their site shortly after the game's release in September, but without a release date.

Between the website pre-orders, the anonymous insiders and the cryptic comments made by Take Two's CEO it would appear that all signs point towards a GTA V Xbox One and PS4 release reveal at E3 this year.
